Garonga Safari Camp is situated west of Kruger National Park, between Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa, in Limpopo, South Africa.

The reserve forms part of the Makalali wildlife conservancy and offers an in-depth experience for bush-lovers seeking more than the classic Big Five encounter. Garonga Safari Camp is an exclusive fourteen bed safari camp with six en-suite rooms nestle into ebony trees. Garonga Safari Camp is situated west of Kruger National on the banks of a water course with exquisite views.

By Air

Commercial

Daily scheduled flights to Phalaborwa (via Air Link) and Hoedspruit (via SA Express). Transfers available from airport to camp at R380 per person return.

Private Air Craft

Garonga have its own Aircraft (a 5-seater Piper Seneca – Twin Engine). This is called the “Garonga Air Charter”. There is a private airstrip available at the camp. Private air-charters can be organised on request.

By Car

Option One

Take N1 to Pietersburg. Just before Pietersburg take R71 towards Tzaneen. Carry on until just past Haenertsburg, then turn right, Keeping on R 71 all the way until Tzaneen, keep straight on R71 past Tzaneen straight through Gravelotte - this is the R526 to Mica. From Gravelotte, measure 18km (11.1 miles) - sign on the right hand side of the road. 'Garonga' - Follow signs.

Option Two

From Johannesburg take N4 past Witbank, turn off N4 to Beltast. From Belfast go through Dullstroom, towards Lydenburg. Through Lydenburg and through Ohrigstad. After going through JG Strydom tunnel measure 10km (6.2 miles) then turn left on the R36 towards Tzaneen. Travel I0km on R36, turn right at the Phalaborwa sign - travel for about 25kms (15.5 miles).

Turn left at the 'T' Junction. Measure about 5kms (3.1 miles) after Mica village 900 metre before the turn-off you will pass an Engen Petrol Station, turn left towards Gravelotte. Measure 15kms (9.3 miles) from the turn off then you will see a Garonga Safari Camp sign on the left hand side of the road. Follow signs to the Lodge.
