Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway rests on the edge of an ancient rock cliff, in the malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in Limpopo, South Africa, and is situated a mere 2 and a half hours drive from Johannesburg.

Directions to Welgevonden Private Game Reserve

Guests can self drive or transfers can be arranged at an additional cost from Gauteng Airports and hotels. Welgevonden has a private airstrip and charters can be arranged if required. The airstrip is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway . The closest gate to the lodge is the East Gate Entrance (about 20 minutes from the lodge). Transfers from the Main Gate, South Gate and West Gate are available on request and surcharges may apply.

From Johannesburg / Pretoria

Travel along the N1 in the direction of Polokwane (Pietersburg). Travel through the Pumulane Toll Station. Thirty five kilometres (22 miles) from the toll station, travel through the next toll station. After 65 kilometres (40.4 miles), travel through the Kranskop Toll Station. Please ensure that when traveling through this toll station that you keep to one of the 2 most left hand lanes.

Turn left along the R33 towards Modimolle (Nylstroom). After 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) there will be a four way stop for Modimolle (Nylstroom). Continue along the R33. After 8 kilometres (4.9 miles) there will be a railway crossing. After 55 kilometres (34.2 miles) there will be a four way stop for Vaalwater.

Continue for another 8 kilometres (4.9 miles) and look for the distinctive game fence on the left hand side. Follow the fence for 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) and turn left immediately after it at the 'Welgevonden East Gate' turn off. Follow the gravel road for approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) until reaching the 'East Gate' entrance.
