Tshwene Lodge is ideally nestled in the foothills of the Waterberg Mountains just 3 hours north of Johannesburg. Tshwene Lodge is situated in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, which covers roughly 37 000 hectares of unspoilt wilderness in the heart of the Northern Province and is home to over 320 species of birds, antelope and game, including the 'Big Five'.

By Road

Take the Ben Schoeman N1 highway from Johannesburg towards Pretoria, follow the N1 Pietersburg signs, pass the Carousel Casino, continue on the N1 until you come to the Kranskop Toll Plaza; then turn off the highway, following the Nylstroom signs (R33), and then turn left.

Travel for approximately 10 kilometres (6 miles) into Nylstroom, Drive straight through the town, travel for approximately 70 kilometres (43.5 miles) into Vaalwater, Continue straight, the Welgevonden main gate is approximately 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) outside of Vaalwater on the left had side.
