Shibula Lodge is situated on the banks of a river, in the mountainous wilderness that is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and flora, malaria free and with a pleasant climate all year round. Here you will find the celebrated Big Five, the best Rhino sightings and more than 350 bird species.

Gleaming silverware on starched linen, a fine vintage in sparkling crystal. At Shibula Lodge dining is a celebration for the palate. Dine in a wine cellar. Enjoy starlight boma (grass hut) dinners with traditional potjiekos and other resident Shibula singers and dancers.

Dine on the main deck overlooking the waterhole and listen to the nightly antics of the resident Baboon troop. Enjoy mouth watering private dining at the Shibula Royal Suite, the Presidential Suite, in the library next to the swimming pool or in the wine cellar. Shibula Lodge's table setting is done in an artistic manner by fully trained staff. Wine complement the food, and the waiters all have South African Wine Academy Training.

Conference Facilities

Conference area seats 18 people There is an out-door bar area and a boma area next to the conference facility. Basic conference equipment is available. Any special equipment required needs to be requested in advance.

The lodge also caters for wedding ceremonies, for up to 28 people.. Accommodation can be arranged for up to 10 guests at neighboring lodges.

Shibula Lodge's specially designed wine cellar compliments the healthy, distinctly African inspired cuisine. The wine cellar is stocked with an excellent selection of South African award-winning wines. The Shibula wine range includes a Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, made of grapes from the owners wine farms located in the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek regions. The wine cellar is an excellent venue for private dining, by special arrangement.
