Dining is the best experience at Mhondoro Game Lodge. Breakfasts, after your early morning game drive, are either full English breakfasts at the lodge or 'bush breakfasts' in the wild. Picnics en route or lunches at Mhondoro Game Lodge are available for those arriving mid-day. Afternoon tea will be served shortly before your afternoon game drive.
Four course dinners range from superb international cuisine served at Mhondoro Game Lodge's dining room to braais (barbeque) served in the open air boma (grass hut), around a wood fire under the African skies. Mhondoro Game Lodge boasts a wine cellar fully stocked with the best South African wines. Bush walks are offered with fully qualified rangers.
These vary with the weather and the desires of the guests. Along with some of the larger animals you may well see some of the 'Little Five'- Elephant Shrew, Leopard Tortoise, Rhino Beetle, Buffalo Weaver and Ant Lion. Your rangers are extremely knowledgeable about the bush and you will soon find yourself absorbed in the wonders of this magical eco- system.
A short walk to Bushman Paintings will transport you back 2000 years when Welgevonden Private Game Reserve was home of the San people (Bushman).
